About the role
This role would suit someone who would like to help another person access volunteer opportunities on the West Coast of Cumbria.
This volunteer role provides support to new volunteers who may need extra help or guidance. Some volunteers may be neurodivergent, have a learning disability or may be shy. This role helps support these people in their new volunteering role, while you also get to volunteer too & make a difference! This varied, exciting opportunity will help someone feel comfortable volunteering as they receive your support and guidance. Over time, they may require your support a little less. If so ,a willingness to stand back and allow their independence to grow will be needed.

Skills and qualities
This role would suit someone who enjoys helping other people. It would suit someone who is looking for a volunteering opportunity and is happy to work alongside, and support, another person. This role would require someone who has a care and an understanding of other people’s individual needs. Support will also also be provided by the Helping Hands team!
Dates and availability
The regularity of this volunteering opportunity will vary depending on who you are supporting, and what sort of role that person has chosen to volunteer in. We can work flexibly with you to see what days work best for you and the person that you will be supporting.
There may be the opportunity to support more than one volunteer, or help out at multiple venues. This can all be discussed when you get in touch with us!
