Multicultural Cumbria is looking for volunteers to help them translate important healthcare information to reach those who do not speak English.
This role can be remote (telephone based) and can lead to other opportunities with other organisations working with people who have English as a Second Language.

Skills and qualities
Multicultural Cumbria work with asylum seekers from all over the World, but are particularly interested in Urdu, Hindi and Chinese speakers.

This is a regular volunteering opportunity. We can work flexibly with you to determine what days/hours would be of interest to you.
About the organisation
Multicultural Cumbria is a charity based in Carlisle that aims to empower individuals & groups from diaspora communities to embrace their culture and share it with friends & neighbours. They promote interaction within communities through four key programme areas: Culture, Education, Events, Health & Wellbeing. One of their key projects is the award-wining ‘Culture Bazaar’ – an annual multicultural event in Carlisle that averages 4,000 visitors over the February half-term weekend.
