Do you have a background in retail? Are you keen to give some of your time to support a local charity?
Did you know that Keswick Museum is also a charity, with its major source of income coming from ticket & retail sales? As such, the museum is looking for someone with a passion for customer service to help them:
- Identify gaps in current volunteer training on retail practice and customer service
- Help the Operations officer with merchandising the retail space and discuss product development
- Explore the museum demographic, their requirements and how the museum can meet them
Benefits include invites to regular social events, access to the Northern Museums Volunteer Pass (which allows you free entry to participating museums in the North West, North East, Yorkshire and Humberside regions) and being part of a friendly team (there is promise of lots of tea and biscuits!)
Skills and qualities
This role would suit a team-player with current retail knowledge. You will be provided with a full induction and training. Please note there is a 3-month trial period for this role. During this time, you can see whether the role is right for you.

This is a flexible volunteering opportunity. You decide what commitment to give. If you are local and would like a regular time slot to visit, you are welcome. It is also possible to volunteer from home as and when you are available.
