- Free and unlimited access to all LA venues
- Visitor guest passes – Six guest day passes a year granting free access to our venues.
- Volunteer retail discount – 10% off retail items
- Volunteer cafe discount – 75% off food and beverage at Abbot Hall, Blackwell and Windermere Jetty Museum
*Please see the volunteer role description for full terms and conditions.
Skills and qualities
This role would suit a friendly and approachable individual to ensure visitors get the most from their visit. A knowledge of art is helpful but isn’t essential. A full induction will be provided as well as regular training about the artworks on display.
Stewards are encouraged to move around the room and engage with visitors, however a chair will always be available for anytime you wish to be seated. Please note you’ll need to be sufficiently mobile to be able to assist with the evacuation of the building in the event of a fire.
Dates and availability
This is a regular volunteering opportunity. Rotas are planned between 1 and 2 months in advance. Lakeland Arts currently organise their volunteer rota across two slots each day:
Mornings: 11.00am – 1.15pm
Afternoons: 1.15pm to 4.00pm
You are welcome to volunteer at as many shifts as you would like.
