Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life are looking for friendly and enthusiastic Front of House volunteers. In this rewarding role you’ll learn about 300+ years of Military History and play an active part in welcoming visitors to the site.
Principle tasks include:
- Taking payment for admissions and sales in the gift shop
- Interacting with visitors and helping them to enjoy their visit
As a valued part of the team, you will receive regular newsletters and updates. You will also be invited to volunteer thank you events.
Skills & Qualities
This role would suit someone with a passion for providing excellent customer service. Full training will be provided.
Dates & Availability
This is a regular, 1 day-a-week volunteering opportunity. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday most of the year. You’ll have a choice of a morning (10.00am -1.00pm) or an afternoon (1.00pm-4.00pm) shift. We can work flexibly with you to determine what day would be of interest to you.
About the organisation
Based in Carlisle Castle, Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life tells the 300-year story of Cumbria’s County Infantry Regiment and its soldiers past and present. The museum is home to a variety of items from uniforms, medals and weapons to interactive displays and dioramas. The new state of the art exhibition features a First World War trench environment, immersive audio/visual displays and an interactive trail for young people.
