About Senhouse Roman Museum
Dramatically sited on cliffs overlooking Solway Firth, this award-winning museum is next to a Roman fort that was probably founded in the first century AD and was rebuilt during the reign of the emperor Hadrian. Today, they welcome visitors to admire their significant collection, they host the Young Archaeologists Club, and they offer an exciting venue for school trips.
The museum building can be cold in the Winter and we advise all volunteers to dress warmly. Hot drinks are freely available to all volunteers whilst carrying out their volunteering role. All public spaces within the museum are on the ground floor. The museum office is accessed by a flight of stairs.
