Deadline for Submissions: Wednesday 16th September 2026, 12:00 pm
Budget: The fee for this work, including travel and expenses, is £4,000 (c. 13 days at £300 plus £100 for expenses). There will be a budget of up to £2,000 available for materials.
Tullie is looking for a freelance creative practitioner with experience developing and delivering engagement activities for older people to create three themed ‘Museum at Home’ activity boxes. The activities will be delivered by museum staff in care homes across Cumbria and should enable residents to:
1) engage with Tullie’s collections and
2) take part in creative activities which are designed to enhance wellbeing
You will be expected to create the boxes in collaboration with Tullie staff, after conducting your own research and consultation with users. The boxes will include a curated set of handling objects with activities designed for museum staff to deliver, as well as a set of self-guided activities that care home staff can facilitate. We will ask you to host initial training of Tullie staff and volunteers as well as provide written-up delivery plans. We would like 2-3 duplicates of each of the 3 activity boxes to support as many people as possible to access this programme. We expect a commissioning meeting, regular communication throughout the project and an evaluation summary of the activity.
