‘Diversity’ is a word that we often encounter in our work, be it engaging with audiences, developing projects or recruiting staff and volunteers. But what does it really mean for rural and smaller museums, and how can increased diversity in our organisations support growth and resilience?

Join Cumbria Museum Consortium (CMC) at Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery as we discuss these topics in the context of current national priorities including the Arts Council’s ‘Creative Case for Diversity’ and the Museums Association’s ‘Power and Privilege’ report. Speakers from museums across the UK, as well as funders such as Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund, will share inspiring projects from museums that have pushed the boundaries in developing the diversity of their programming and their organisations; they will address challenges and showcase successes to equip you with the tools to achieve similar outcomes in your own museum.
